Leakage Current Purpose

The Electrochemical Energy script for Leakage Current monitors the current that flows spontaneously and internally within a battery or capacitor, causing self-discharge of the cell.

Specifically, this script measures the current that flows when the battery or cell is held at a constant voltage. This is the current that causes an internal voltage-drop within a cell, causing self-discharge. Unlike most Electrochemical Energy software experiments, this script uses potentiostatic-control mode.

This is a half-cell, full-cell, stack, or dual-electrometer experiment. Dual-electrometer mode is only available with the Interface 5000.
