Purpose of Potentiostatic Intermittent Titration Technique (PITT)
PITT, a variant of the Electrochemical Energy experiment, is used to determine the diffusion coefficient of the active material present in the positive electrode. The experiment consists of a series of pulses followed by a rest period. Voltage pulses are applied to the cell for a set time, after which the cell is allowed to relax for a specified time. The magnitude of the voltage pulse is increased at a set increment until the voltage limit of the battery is reached.
PITT is run one time or cyclically through the Sequence Wizard, in the Electrochemical Energy folder (see below). When the upper voltage limit is reached, the voltage pulse magnitude is decreased at a set increment. This continues until the lower voltage limit of the battery is reached. You can specify this charge and discharge sequence to run for a certain number of cycles.
To use PITT, click the Potentiostat Intermittent Titration Technique script, and drag it into User Defined Sequence column:
