C Rate
What is C Rate?
The C rate is a term used in battery and supercapacitor research to describe the rate of charging or discharging of one battery in one hour. C rate is a useful idea for controlling the rate of charge or discharge in your Sequences.
Example of C Rate
C rate is incorporated into the Sequence Wizard™ via a drop-down menu in a Charge or Discharge step. Below is a simple example of a Sequence.
For example, if we click on the first Discharge step in the Sequence shown above, the Discharge window appears:
For the Discharge Mode field, you have several choices, including the two modes Capacity * N and Capacity / N, both of which incorporate C rate. If you choose modes Capacity * N or Capacity / N, the label for the field next to them becomes #N, which is a C rate. Below is a Charge window with a C rate as a Charge Mode.
