Start the Model Editor
Select Impedance>Model Editor from the Echem Analyst™ menu bar. A new window appears.
The Model Editor is actually a separate program. The filename for this program is MODELED.EXE. This program and all its associated files are located in the Framework™ directory.
When you run the Model Editor, it becomes the active application. The Echem Analyst is still running, but is currently inactive. You can switch between the model editor, the Echem Analyst, and any other active programs by hitting alt + tab.
The icons toward the top of the Model Editor window represent the components that you use to construct a schematic diagram of your equivalent circuit. From left to right they are a resistor, a capacitor, an inductor, a generalized constant-phase element, an infinite Warburg impedance, a bounded Warburg, a porous bounded Warburg, a Gerischer element, and a wire.
Moving a component to the trash-can icon removes that component from the screen and from the model. You can also right-click on a component and click Delete.
In this exercise, you are going to add an inductor to the Randles Cell model. We do this for instructional purposes only: the modified model is actually a poorer model for the dummy-cell data than the original Randles cell model.
