Acquire Impedance Data

After the initial delay, the Framework™ begins acquiring impedance data. A plot of current versus potential appears. The Status Display changes to Freq = 5000.

The display of AC data in an x,y format is called a Lissajous figure. Problems with data-acquisition are usually apparent on this display. At 5 kHz the Lissajous figure does not contain many points. As the frequency gets lower there are more points to form a well-defined oval.

The number in the Status Display is the frequency currently being measured. It updates as each point is acquired.

Two numbers are in the upper left-hand corner of the box bounding the curve. These numbers represent coordinates of a selected spot on the real-time chart. On the Lissajous figure, the first number is the current and the second number is the potential. Update the numbers by pointing the mouse at a spot on the chart and clicking the mouse button. This feature is available on all the Framework real-time displays. In general, the first number is the value of the quantity from the x-axis, and the second number is the value of quantity from the y-axis.

At the top of the runner window are five controls. The four buttons are currently labeled F1-ABORT, F2-Skip, F3-Pause, and F4-Point. The fifth control is linked to the F5 key, but it is not a button. It controls curve display. When you click this control, a curve list is displayed. Each item on the list corresponds to a curve that can be displayed.
