Potentiostatic Purpose
This is a general-purpose experimental technique to potentiostatically hold a cell or battery.
This experiment actually runs in a galvanostatic mode with a software feedback to give a potentiostatic response. The advantage of this method is that the potentiostat can never go into current overload, so no charge is lost. If the instrument is asked to provide a voltage that is too far away from the existing value, the instrument might be called upon to give infinite current. Using the galvanostatic/software feedback method, the instrument simply provides the maximum amount of current available.
Like other Electrochemical Energy scripts, this script allows you to set Stop At conditions for ending the experiment.
This is a half-cell, full-cell, stack, or dual-electrometer experiment. Dual-electrometer mode is only available with the Interface 5000.
